Ms. Shirley Lozano-Nelson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years experience in various settings in the mental health field focusing on individual, couples and family therapy.
Ms. Lozano-Nelson specializes in treating children, adolescents and adults with a wide range of psychological issues such as depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, ADD/ADHD and developmental disorders. Ms. Lozano- Nelson also treats issues related to chronic/terminal illness, grief and loss, marital issues, child abuse and neglect, parenting skills building, and anger management.
Ms. Lozano-Nelson received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Rutgers University with a concentration in Developmental Psychology. She then went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Monmouth University with a concentration in Clinical Practice with Children and Families. Ms. Lozano-Nelson was also inducted into the Phi Alpha National Honor Society for Social Work during her graduate studies. Ms. Lozano-Nelson is passionate about utilizing a strengths-based approach combined with Cognitive Behavioral therapy to work collaboratively with her clients to find effective strategies that meet the unique needs of each individual, couple or family.
Ms. Lozano-Nelson is also a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
